Ealing Council's response to Climate and Ecological Emergencies

2020 - ongoing

When Ealing Council declared a Climate Emergency and pledged to becoming carbon neutral by 2030, the council’s Climate Action team asked Lantern to join the initiative.

The Climate Action team knew that to deliver on their commitment they needed the community to be integral to the vision.

Lantern was invited to facilitate and run citizen panel workshops with independent experts in the community and Ealing residents.  Four ‘virtual’ workshops held in Summer 2020 tackled the four primary themes in the Council’s Climate and Ecological Emergency plan: energy, waste, transport and green infrastructure. The panel reviewed each theme against vision, objectives and targets then made recommendations for improvements.

You can find the recommendation report Lantern produced and further information on Ealing Council’s Climate action here.
